DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE is an unusual house track of the year, released by 33 Music. It is an absolute doozy from UK producer Ed Lee. Now out on Beatport, Spotify and Apple Music. The single also bags a remix from imprint boss Dan McKie.
LISTEN TO ‘DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE ON SPOTIFY’
Down the Rabbit Hole original and the remix center around one of the longest continual notes in dance music history. Wrapping undulating bass notes, syncopated claps and vocal stabs around the core shaft of the song. McKie’s remix is more focused towards the dance floor. A driving rhythm from the percussion and high hats giving the cut more latitude. Lee’s composition, on the other hand, is one long dive down the sonic hole, unrelenting and uncompromising.
With support from some of the house music’s most revered statesmen, including James Zabiela, Luke Fair, Roger Sanchez, Desyn Masiello, Mark Knight and Hernan Cattaneo, Lee has been entrenched in the UK’s house scene for well over a decade.
DAN MCKIE’S SAY ON THE REMIX
Speaking about this remix of Lee’s single, Dan McKie said: “I have loved this track for a while since I originally signed to my 1980 Recordings imprint. It was licensed to Claude Van Stroke’s Dirtybird imprint for a release on a compilation but I still felt I would love a go at remixing this, so I did. My remix is clubbier and with a lick of ‘Dan McKie’ flavor hopefully.”
ED LEE ‘DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE’ (ORIGINAL EDIT & DAN MCKIE REMIX) IS AVAILABLE VIA BEATPORT, SPOTIFY AND APPLE MUSIC ON 33 MUSIC FROM NOVEMBER 22ND 2019.
